Solar-Powered SAO Agro Farm Project I

SAO Energy

Ondo State Government

Ondo State, Nigeria

Being that we are a health-conscious and best-practice-focused brand, in 2021, SAO Energy embarked on an innovative project for the Ondo State government to power a farm located at SAPZ (Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone) entirely on solar energy. The primary objective of this project was to reduce the dependency on generators and other environmentally harmful energy sources for the daily operations of the farm. The system was specifically designed to cater to hostel apartments comprising seventy (70) rooms, each accommodating four occupants.

It involved the installation of eighteen 450 Wp monocrystalline solar panels, which generate 8,100 Wp at peak sunlight, along with two 5KVA hybrid inverters communicated to produce 10KVA inverting power and three 5kWh lithium batteries also communicated to generate 15kWh of storage power. Today, these hotels are successfully powered by solar energy, enjoying a continuous and uninterrupted supply of electricity.

The solar-powered agricultural farm now successfully provides a 24-hour power supply to the people and facility at SAO Agro Farm to enable effective and expedited production as there has been a drastic reduction in the dependency on generators in running daily farm operations.
