Smart Mini-Grid Installation for Primary Healthcare Centres
SAO Energy
Ondo State Government
Ondo State, Nigeria
This initiative's primary objective involved energising the Primary Healthcare Centres (PHC) - by providing clean, reliable, and cost-effective electricity to designated PHCs while also serving as hubs in remote areas. Through a smart algorithm and the installation of a 5KVA inverter system, smart billing metres and a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at each PHC, over 100 adjacent households are connected to this sustainable energy network, ensuring access to constant power supply.
The twin goal of providing essential healthcare services and fostering renewable energy to rural residents is achieved through efficient energy distribution to PHCs in this project. A total of 300,00 individuals in 25 primary healthcare centres (PHC) and 18 local government areas (LGAs) in Ondo State benefit from this initiative.
